Going fishin this week? Well, we are going to prepare you for the big fish you’re planning on catching. We’ll prepare you for the fishing frenzy you’re hoping to see. First of all, if you are planning on catching and releasing your fish, you won’t be needing the equipment for preparing a meal. However, if you are not planning on releasing the fish you catch, make sure you have the pan and fish batter for a quick shore lunch.

You need to have the right supplies for your fishing trip, before you make your quest. Whether you ‘re going for freshwater fish or saltwater fish, make sure you are totally prepared for all the fishing you can handle. You’ll need the right fishing rod, like the

We had the opportunity to fish for largemouth bass, Kentucky spotted bass, crappie, blue gills, walleyes, catfish, and stripers. Not knowing what we would be fishing for at any given time, we loaded a whole array of fishing gear to cover all our options. This was truly a multi species fishing expedition with all the fixings. It was clear, though, as soon as our group arrived, that the first fish we would be pursuing was the bass. The main river channel played a big part in the decision to go for largemouth and spotted bass first.

The fish were stair stepped all along the deep channel breaks, no such thing as too steep either. We focused on sharp channel bends nearest the shoreline bluffs. Bass were concentrated near the head and tail of the channel hook. My fishfinder (Lowrance)

This depthfinder/fishfinder option revealed some key fish holding areas to cast. Conventional sonar would not have showed this area. This is a great feature for anglers who like to explore unfamiliar bodies of water. The next task was to see what flipped the fish’s switches.

We had recently read a lot about the new “umbrella rig”, or “Alabama rig”. The Alabama rig consists of a splay of five wires that have swivels attached at the end of each one.

Fisherman can connect a variety of baits like jigs or jerkbaits, which will imitate a school of baitfish on the swim. Well, let me tell you, this worked extremely well, and we were catching fish nearly every cast.

You have to make sure you have a hoss of a rod to use this rig, such as the Shimano Teramar Inshore Rods Tmcx70h Se Rod, Heavy/ Extra Fast, 7′ 0″, because it creates a lot of resistance and it will give you a real workout if you don’t have at least a 7’ medium to heavy action rod.
